Minister of Transport Dr. Abdel Salam Humayd held talks today, Monday, in transitional capital Aden, with the economist advisor of the Office of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen Derek Jan and his accompanying delegation.
The discussions covered topics relating to ongoing cooperation between the Yemeni government and the UN about the economic and humanitarian situations, particularly the efforts to open the roads.
Humayed cited the government's efforts aiming to achieve the economic recovery, improve basic services and ensure regular pay of the salaries.
The Minister highlighted the destructive impacts of the Houthi militias' escalation and attacks on oil facilities and maritime navigation and international shipping lines that have further worsened the economic hardships the Yemeni people are experiencing.
The UN's official stated that the UN is keen on maintaining the truce and contributing toward addressing the economic problems Yemen has been struggling with.
