Yemen’s Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Dr. Mohammed Jmeih has said that UNESCO has dispatched an international monitoring and response mission, with the participation of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), to the Island of Socotra, which is listed as a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Chinese Ambassador: Houthis' attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea must stop

Charged' Affairs of the Chinese embassy in the Republic of Yemen Chu Ch'ing stressed that the terrorist Houthi militias' attacks on the commercial ships in the Red Sea must stop and it is very important to de-escalate tension in the Red Sea to save the region and the world the implications of the conflict in this important water passageway.

Speaking at press conference organized by the Chinese embassy today, Thursday, in Riyadh he said" The persistent conflict in the Red Sea may get out of control, all parties should maintain the security of the Red Sea, respect the sovereignty of the Red Sea countries, their territorial integrity and not intervention in their own internal affairs".

He went on saying" The People's Republic of China pays great attention to the situation in the Red Sea as it is the largest country in terms of commercial goods, the biggest trade partner for over 140 countries around the world, it is passageway for the Chinese products to Europe, Africa and Asia".

He noted that China badly affected by the ongoing events in the Red Sea that resulted in rising up insurance fees of the maritime transports.

The Chinese diplomat reiterated Beijing's support for the ongoing efforts to make peace in Yemen, affirming China's support for the legitimate leadership in Yemen headed by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen.

He also stressed that it is very important to stop the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people in Gaza saying" The Palestinian generations have suffered the calamity of displacement and the Palestinian people have been suffering the longest injustice in the modern history, this must stop by establishing cease-fire and a political settlement based on the two-state solution".
