Presidential Leadership Council discusses local developments and soon due executive tasks

The Presidential Leadership Council headed by Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi held a meeting here today and addressed developments in the economic, living, political, security and military fields, and the soon due executive tasks necessary to fulfill the state's obligations during the new year.

The meeting congratulated Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak for gaining the confidence of the Council and his appointment as a new Prime Minister.

It also praised the highly appreciated efforts of Dr. Maeen Abdul Malik Saeed during his assumption of the presidency of the government under extremely complex local and regional circumstances.

The Presidential Leadership Council stressed the importance of the Prime Minister and members of the government and all leaders of state institutions, working from within, and urgently dealing with citizens’ concerns and needs in a timely manner in various fields.

The meeting affirmed the Council's commitment to supporting the government's efforts and facilitating the exercise of its powers with full powers to alleviate the human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias, and to achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore state institutions, security, stability and peace.

The Council heard a briefing from the Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari on the latest developments in military affairs, and the level of implementation of defense decisions and plans, including deterring the escalation of the Houthi militias, and unifying the command and control of all units of the armed forces, and the military formations included within the legitimate government coalition under the command of the Ministry of Defense and the presidency of the General Staff in a way that achieves the integration of forces under a unified national command structure in accordance with what was stipulated in the announcement of the transfer of power.

The Council also reviewed a briefing on the regional developments related to the brutal Israeli war against the Palestinian people, and the Houthi terrorist attacks on international shipping lines, and their devastating repercussions on food security, and regional and global peace, and took the necessary decisions and directions regarding them.
