President al-Alimi holds meeting with PM, relevant officials on economy

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi met Tuesday with Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik and a number of officials with relation to economy.

The meeting included Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Ahmad Ghaleb and Ministers of Finance Salem bin Buraik, of Energy and Electricity Manea bin Yameen and of Oil and Minerals Saeed al-Shammasi.

The meeting discussed indicators of the Yemeni economy and new changes of the price of the national currency and prices of goods and supplies of basic services led by electricity over continuous stop of oil exports after Houthi militia's terrorist attacks on oil facilities, in addition to regional and international developments over Israeli dangerous escalation in Gaza Strip.

President al-Alimi was acquainted with government procedures to improve economic performance and continuing financial and service reforms in coordination with regional alleys and international partners to ensure basic needs to citizens.

The concerned ministers talked about the implemented measures and needed support to overcome the sustainable problem in electric sector, as well as significance of coordination between the ministries of electricity, oil and finance to provide enough fuel to operate power stations.

President al-Alimi confirmed necessity of collective work to face current challenges in accordance with applicable timely plans.
He made the meeting parties on the picture of the destructive impacts of the tropical storm on infrastructure and public and private possessions of Socotra, Mahra and Hadhramout and needed interventions to alleviate the disaster on the citizens.
