GCC confirms its support for political settlement in Yemen

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim al-Budaiwi has confirmed the GCC's full support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to reach an inclusive political solution in Yemen that maintains the sovereignty of Yemen, its unity and territorial integrity, achieve security and stability in Yemen.

In a joint press conference he held today, Thursday, in the interim capital Aden with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed BinMubark al-Budaiwi has reiterated the GCC's principled stance about putting an end of the Yemeni crisis through a political settlement based on the three terms of peace references including the GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UNSC resolution 2216.

He also confirmed the GCC's support for implementing the outcomes of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations sponsored by the GCC during the time from 29 March to 7 April 2022 in Riyadh.

The GCC' Secretary General reaffirmed the GCC's support for Yemeni in all walks of life, namely the political, economic, development and humanitarian fields.

He stated that the GCC's member states are interested in establishing strategic partnership with Yemen.

Dr. BinMubarak hailed the GCC's delegation visit to the temporary capital Aden, describing it as a significant message confirms the GCC's support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government and people.
