Governor of Lahj Ahmad Turkey discussed Monday with the Representative of the Office of the UN High Commission for Human Rights in Yemen Rino Dital possible support to the province to improve situations in prisons and detentions, improving their buildings, qualifying inmates and capacity building of the state institutions in the province.
Governor Turkey praised big efforts exerted by the office of the commission in Yemen, calling for doubling humanitarian activities of the organization in the province for supporting efforts of the local authority in human rights files.
Meanwhile the UN official pointed out to the office's keenness on supporting Lahj Province through implementing training and qualifying programs to human resources and Civil Society Organizations.
The governor and the UN official visited the Central Prison of Lahj and inspected conditions of the inmates.
