The Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, discussed with the Resident Representative for Humanitarian Affairs, David Gressly, and members of the Crisis Cell team at the United Nations office, the security measures implemented by the Taiz Governorate police with the rest of the security units to arrest the perpetrators of the assassination of "Moayad Hamidi," the coordinator of the World Food Program in the city of Turbah, last Friday.
In the virtual meeting, Shamsan expressed his condolences to the United Nations staff, humanitarian partners and the victim's family.
He reviewed the measures taken by the local authority and the security committee after the assassination occurred and how the different security units moved to the city of Al-Turbah as an integrated system and initiated procedures for tracking and seizing 20 perpetrators of the crime within less than 24 hours. They are being interrogated to find out the motives for committing this crime, which shocked all the people of the province.
He said, "The investigation procedures with the accused are being carried out with full transparency and follow-up by the president and members of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and parliament, and official and popular interest to follow up on the details and developments of this painful incident."
