Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, Salem al-Soqatri, met with the Head of Agricultural Business and Infrastructure Development at the Food Security and Food Systems Unit of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Ali Badarna, on the sidelines of the UN Food Systems Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting focused on discussing a project to enhance the livestock sector, aiming to support livelihood projects and livestock breeders through various production chains and dairy industries.
The project, initiated by UNIDO, seeks to promote food security and sustainable development in Yemen.
Al-Soqatri emphasized the importance of partnerships to support productive groups, including farmers and livestock breeders. He highlighted the ministry's efforts to develop the livestock sector, implement a national strategy for its growth, and provide veterinary services to ensure the availability of healthy animal products.
