Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haydan, discussed with the security attache at the US Embassy in Yemen, David Schatt, joint cooperation in the security field, training and rehabilitation, and raising the capabilities of the anti-terrorism team in the ministry.
The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, organized crime and arms smuggling across territorial waters, the possibility of coordination to train and qualify employees of the Ministry of Interior, and a number of files of common interest.
For his part, the security attache at the US embassy praised the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in combating terrorism and smuggling weapons that extremist groups exploit to disturb security and public peace. He affirmed his country's readiness to give more training and qualification to police and security cadres in Yemen to help them enhance security and stability.
