Riyadh – Saba
President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ahmed Farouk, to discuss bilateral relations, developments in the local situation, and efforts to establish peace and stability in Yemen.

In the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, in his name and the members of the Council, congratulated the Egyptian people, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the occasion of the victory of the tenth of Ramadan, wishing Egypt and its people all progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.

The Chairman of the Leadership Council mentioned Egypt's firm role alongside the Yemeni people, its political leadership, and its republican system in various stages, leading to its Arab and humanitarian role within the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, efforts to restore state institutions, and end the coup of the terrorist Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the historical relations between the two brotherly countries, during which Egypt opened its doors to receive hundreds of thousands of Yemenis seeking a safe haven, for education, treatment, or investment.

For his part, Ambassador Ahmed Farouk affirmed Egypt's firm position on the side of Yemen, its people and its political leadership, and its support for all efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability, and restoring the path of development in the country.

He also affirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, and transferring the concerns and facilities required for Yemeni residents and expatriates to the Egyptian government, explaining that the recent regulatory measures regarding residence and travel systems came to include many nationalities, and do not target specific Yemenis.
