The Executive Management Unit for the Internally Displaced Persons Camps (MUIDPC) issued today, Tuesday, an appeal for the UN's agencies, regional and international humanitarian and relief organizations to offer a hand of help to 81 thousand of IDP families have been struggling with the extremely cold weather in the IDP Camps in Marib city and neighborhoods.
A press release issued by the MUIDP learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) said" We received many appeals over the past couple of days from emergency departments at the IDP Camps asking for immediate humanitarian and relief interventions to help the IDPs to cope with the extremely cold weather hit the governorate".
The MUIDPC reported that there are 197 camps in the governorate out of which 98% are suffering unbearable cold weather. The total number of the IDPs who have been directly subjected to cold weather is 56 thousand ID families in 67 camps scattered in Marib desert with worn out tents can never protect the old people, women and children from the severely cold weather.
"Heavy clothes, blankets and suchlike stuffs are urgently needed to help the IDPs", said the MUIDPC.
