Arab and Islamic countries and organizations have strongly condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, targeting Abha and King Khalid international airports and causing civilian deaths and injuries.
Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Albudaiwi strongly condemned the attacks, saying that targeting civilian airports and putting the lives of passengers, employees and civilians at risk represents a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international laws and norms. He called for a firm and deterrent international response to prevent such practices from continuing to threaten regional and international peace and security.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC states’ full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and their support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its territory, resources, security, citizens and residents.
Egypt also strongly condemned the attacks on Saudi territory, which targeted Abha and King Khalid international airports and resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Egypt said the escalation and attacks against Saudi territory, and the threat they pose to the Kingdom’s security and stability, undermine the security and stability of the region as a whole.
Egypt reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia against any threat to its security and stability, stressing the need to end such attacks, uphold international law, and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
Bahrain strongly condemned the two terrorist attacks targeting Abha and King Khalid international airports, which caused deaths and injuries among citizens and residents and damaged facilities.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry said in a statement that targeting airports and civilian facilities and endangering the lives of passengers and innocent workers constitutes a criminal act and a blatant violation of international and international humanitarian law. It described the attacks as a dangerous escalation threatening regional security, stability and the safety of civil air navigation.
Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security and stability and protect its citizens and residents, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of Bahrain’s security and that of the GCC.
The Jordanian government also condemned the two Houthi attacks targeting Abha and King Khalid international airports, describing them as a blatant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, a threat to its security and stability, and a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter.
Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s condemnation of attacks on civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security, stability, resources, citizens and residents.
Syria strongly condemned the latest Houthi attacks targeting vital facilities and civilian sites in Saudi Arabia, particularly Abha and King Khalid international airports, which resulted in deaths and injuries.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement that targeting civilian facilities and endangering civilians’ lives constitutes a blatant violation of international law and relevant rules and conventions, as well as a direct threat to the security of Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
The ministry reaffirmed Syria’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security and stability and safeguard the lives of its citizens and residents. It also reiterated Syria’s categorical rejection of all forms of attacks on Saudi territory and any actions that threaten regional security and stability.
Kuwait strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s blatant attacks on Abha and King Khalid international airports, describing them as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a gross breach of international and international humanitarian law.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry stressed its categorical rejection of the repeated attacks targeting innocent civilians and civilian and economic facilities and called for an immediate end to them.
Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security and protect its citizens and residents, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s security is inseparable from Kuwait’s security and that of the GCC states.
Qatar’s Cabinet also strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s attack on an electricity distribution station in Medina that serves the Prophet’s Mosque and civilian facilities. It described the attack as a serious violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, a blatant provocation of Muslims, a reckless disregard for civilian lives and a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty.
Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and Islamic holy sites, stressing that its security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and the collective security of the GCC states.
The Muslim World League strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s continued attacks against Saudi Arabia and its targeting of Abha and King Khalid international airports, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.
Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa renewed his condemnation of the “treacherous terrorist attacks,” saying they violate religious values as well as international and humanitarian laws and norms and demonstrate the militia’s deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian facilities.
On behalf of the League’s international councils, bodies and assemblies, as well as the Muslim communities under its umbrella, Al-Issa reaffirmed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its measures to deter the attackers and protect its security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers also strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist attacks on airports in Riyadh and Abha, which resulted in deaths and injuries among citizens and residents and caused material damage.
In a statement issued from its headquarters in Tunis, the General Secretariat condemned the militia’s continued attacks on civilians and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia, its blatant violations of international law and its threat to regional security and stability. It reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for the measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security, stability, resources, citizens and residents.
