The Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, met with a delegation from the European Union including the Deputy Ambassador of France to Yemen, the First Secretary at the Netherlands Embassy and First Secretary at the Irish Embassy who are currently visiting the governorate.
During the meeting, the governor, Shamsan, welcomed the delegation, considering that the visit is of great importance in order to get a closer look at the difficult humanitarian conditions experienced by the people of the province as a result of the war and the unjust siege.
He pointed to the suffering resulting from water and electricity services were stopped as wells, power lines and the garbage dump fell under the control of the militias.
The governor reviewed the efforts made by the local authority to mitigate the damages of the war, restore the educational process, and repair the damage, despite the militias' intransigence and refusal to stop the bombing and targeting of civilians, and the respond to international efforts and UN proposals to open the roads.
