PARIS-SABA
France has expressed regret for not reaching an agreement to renew the UN Truce in Yemen despite continuous efforts exerted by the UN envoy for Yemen, which France fully supports his efforts.
The Spokesperson of French Foreign Affairs Ministry Anne-Claire Legendre told journalists that France welcomes constructive rapprochement by the government of Yemen in supporting the truce for the sake of realizing permanent peace to Yemeni people, expressing regret for Houthi rejection of the suggestion provided to them.
" France denounces threatening statements made by Houthi officials towards Yemen's neighbors in a time work for peace is necessary," she added.
The political solution under the UN sponsorship is the way which will enable ending the war, calling parties to resume negotiations without delay under the patronage of the UN envoy for Yemen for permanent peace in Yemen, she said.
