Al-Shuaibi meets with German Foreign Ministry official

Yemeni Ambassador to Berlin Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi met today with the Director of the Middle East and North Africa department at the German Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Christian Bock.

The meeting reviewed a number of issues related to bilateral relations between the two countries. Al-Shuaibi offered condolences of the Yemeni government and people to the German nation on the fall of victims in the floods that had hit western regions of Germany.

Al-Shuaibi raised issue of the developments in Yemen and the existing peace opportunities, which are approved by the Yemeni government and the international community, saying international pressure is required to get the Houthi militia to accept the offered peace initiatives.

For his part, the German official stressed the importance of peace efforts and the need to stop Houthi attacks on Marib. He confirmed Germany's support for the Riyadh Agreement and the importance of completing its implementation in a manner that creates conditions that facilitate peace in Yemen.
