Yemen’s war is continuing because of continued Iranian military support to Houthis, says FM
[28/05/2021 04:04]

ADEN - SABA
Yemen’s Foreign Minister has said that his country’s war is continuing into the seventh year as a result of the continued Iranian military support to Houthi putschist militia.

Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak said in a video conference with the U.S. Envoy to Iran Robert Malley said that with military assistance Houthis, “Iran is not only destroying Yemen and exacerbating its humanitarian crisis, but is turning Yemen’s territories to a place for extorting neighborly counties and threatening the global security and peace.

He said all peace initiatives and mediation efforts including that of the US have been ruined by the intransigence of the militia, which does not regard in the least bit the interests of the Yemeni people.

Bin Mubarak called on the US to exercise more pressure on the Iranian regime to stop its military support especially the smuggling of arms to the militia, which the militia use to attack civilians in Yemen and in its neighborly countries.
He said that the continued Iranian support “undermines the efforts to bring an end to the war.”
