The Steering Committee for Food Security Systems and Information program and Early Warning Systems met today in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The delegation of Yemen was headed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waed Abdullah Badheeb and Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Major General Salem Al-Soqtari in the presence of the Ambassador of the European Union to Yemen and a number of other foreign officials.
The Minister of Planning affirmed the efforts of those in charge of the project and thanked the technical support agency for the program (FAO) and the financial support body for the program (the European Union) for their efforts, stressing the importance of continuing support in order to create sustainability for the program, and the importance of assisting the program in moving from the field of relief aid to the field of developmental aid.
