RIYADH – SABA
Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmad Obaid bin Daghr discussed Tuesday with Falah Al-Mutairi, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Yemen fraternal relations and joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries across various fields.
During the meeting, Dr. bin Daghr praised Kuwait’s longstanding firm stance toward Yemen and its humanitarian, relief, and development assistance.
He affirmed that Kuwait has consistently stood alongside Yemen through various stages and circumstances, noting that its humanitarian and development contributions reflect the depth of the historical ties between the two brotherly countries.
He also commended the role of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in supporting the Yemeni government’s efforts to end the Houthi coup and restore state institutions.
He condemned Houthi attacks on civilian facilities and Saudi airports.
Dr. bin Daghr reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, condemning the crimes committed by the Houthi terrorist militia, most recently the attack on al-Alam Training Center in Shabwa Governorate.
He called on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to strengthen solidarity and coordination to defeat the Houthi militias, which he described as an instrument of Iran’s expansionist project in the region.
For his part, the Kuwaiti ambassador reaffirmed the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between the two brotherly countries and Kuwait’s commitment to continuing its humanitarian and development support for Yemen, in a manner that contributes to strengthening security and stability and fulfilling the Yemeni people’s aspirations for peace and prosperity.
