ADEN - SABA
Yemen’s Information Minister has condemned the crime of burning hundreds of migrants to death or severe injury levels in a detention facility the Houthi militia-controlled Sana’a on Sunday.

Muammar al-Eryani condemned the Houthi militia in the “strongest terms” and said it sought “to bury the evidences of the crime which pictures and videos showed the magnitude of.”

“They (the dead) were buried in newly dug mass graves amidst a Houthi attempt to cover up on the crime,” he said. Reports said at least 30 of 350 died in the inferno while the rest sustained critical injuries.

Al-Eryani said the militia had rounded up African migrants to the facility in Sana’a and before, the fire incident, demanded them to choose between joining the militia’s radicalization and military courses in preparation to send them to the anti-government fronts or to be detained and deported back to their home countries.” He said that the migrants declined and “protested at the maltreatment.”

Al-Eryani called for a transparent international investigation into the matter and for an international pressure to stop the militia from recruiting foreign refugees to the warfronts against the government.
