Planning Minister, OCHA representative discuss coordination

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Bathib discussed Monday with the new Coordinator of the Office of Coordinating Human Affairs (OCHA) in Yemen Sajjad Mohammad Sajed cooperation and coordination between the two parties.

The meeting touched upon coordination with the Special Committee for Improving Relief Activities of organizations working in Yemen and confirmation of OCHA's support to efforts of planning ministry for providing facilitations to these organizations.

Bathib welcomed the new representative, confirming Yemen's aspirations that 2021 will be the year of transferring from relief into developmental work.

He stressed significance of coordination with the ministry as discussion of projects financed by donors is run via the ministry of planning and there must be joint work plan and reporting to the ministry on all activities of OCHA and other organizations.

He pointed out to holding technical workshop on releasing the one-window system and calling for implementing it aiming on reducing many procedures and providing all facilitations for humanitarian and developmental work.

He called for supporting the national currency via exchanging funds through the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden.

For his part, the OCHA official expressed aspirations for more cooperation for providing different assistances.
