Aden governor discusses IOM’s interventions in the governorate

Aden governor discussed on Tuesday with the deputy director of the International Organization for Migration the activities and interventions of the organization in the interim capital Aden and mechanisms of coordination between the local authority and the IOM’s office in the city.

They discussed the status of refugees and migrants from the Horn of Africa, and the mechanism to repatriate them back to their home countries.

The governor confirmed the readiness of the local authority to offer all aspects of assistance to the IOM to make its project of migrant repatriation a success. He noted that Aden is bearing a large burden as a result of the migrants’ very large number.

The IOM official hailed the efforts of the local authority of Aden in accommodating the migrants and bearing the burdens associated with that, noting that they have contacted the Ethiopian government to agree on how to implement the repatriation government.
