Vice President of the Republic (Lt Gen) Ali Mohsen Saleh held a meeting on Thursday via videoconference with the UN's special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths.
The Meeting aimed to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni national scene, namely efforts to establish cease-fire.
The Vice President has made it clear that President Hadi ordered to respond to the call of the cease-fire that takes its effects from today, Thursday, at: 12:00 midday local time, in a response to the call of the chief of the UN to devote efforts and resources to control coronavirus (covid-19).
The Vice President voiced appreciation for the member states of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition which announced their support to the decision of the legitimate government to respond to the call of the Secretary General of the UN in order to create appropriate conditions to make the efforts of the UN's special envoy successful and help alleviate the Yemeni peoples' suffering and work on controlling coronavirus pandemic.
Mohsen stated that the legitimate government has made the safety of the Yemeni people and their interest a top priority, to the this end the government devoted its efforts and allotted financial resources to take precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus.
He called on the international community and donors to support Yemen's efforts to brace for any health potential risks.
The Vice President reiterated the legitimate government's support to the UN-lead efforts to make peace and resume the political process in accordance with the three terms of reference to reinstate the official authority and end the coup that caused the Yemeni people unspeakable suffering.
For his part Mr. Griffiths expressed appreciation of the UN Secretary General for President Hadi's constructive response to the call for truce and cease-fire to devote the efforts to deal with the implications of coronavirus.
