A meeting held Monday chaired by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Yemen’s Governor to the World Bank Dr. Afrah al-Zouba and attended by a high-level World Bank delegation led by the Bank’s Vice President for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan Ousmane Dione discussed ways to enhance partnership and expand support across development, humanitarian, service, and economic sectors in the country.

PM praises local authority's efforts to improve services in Lahj governorate

Prime Minister DrMa'een Abdulmalik commended good coherence of Lahj governorate local authority, appreciating the significant efforts made to reinstate basic services in the governorate.

Ma'een statement came as he presided over a meeting Thursday in the interim capital Aden brought together the leadership of local authority and officials of the executive bureau of Lahj governorate. The Minister of Local Administration Abduraqeeb Fatah and Minister of Endowments Ahmed Attiah were also in presence.

Governor of Lahj Ahmed Turki presented a detailed report about the situations in the governorate and the needed support to help improving basic services.

The Prime Minister cited the government's action plan aims to renormalize the situations and re-instate the basic services in government-held governorates including Lahj.

He noted that the government has already started today to pay the unpaid salaries of this year and work is progress to pay the remaining due payments to the military and civil servants employees.

Ma'een stated that the genuine battle that should be fought by all Yemeni people is the battle with the Houthi militia to put down the coup and reinstate the official authority and institutions.
