Al-Barakani meets with President of Inter-Parliamentary Union

Speaker of Parliament Sultan al-Barakani met Tuesday with the President of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Gabriela Barron.

They discussed bilateral relations between the Yemeni Parliament and the IPU.

Al-Barakani briefed Barron on the Yemeni crisis and difficult circumstances the Yemeni people have been going through due to Houthi militia's coup. He touched upon the roles of the House of Representatives in Yemen and the efforts have been made by the Yemeni lawmakers to reach a political solution, put an end of the coup and re-establish security, stability and rule of law.

Barron stated that the IPU is interested in realizing peace in Yemen to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Dep. Speaker of Parliament Mohammed Ashdadi, MPs Mohammed al-Qobati, NajeebGhanim and Mohammed al-Maqtqri were in attendance.
