Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Ahmed Al-Zameki, discussed with the FAO's Deputy Regional Director, Walid Saleh, coordinated approval and implementation of agricultural and livestock development projects.
Al-Zameki pointed out that Yemen has large water resources, but the inadequate management of the resource has denied the agricultural sector of its benefit. He stressed that the irrigation sector needs to implement a number of development projects including wells and dams to best exploit the ground and surface water reservoirs.
He praised the role of the FAO in implementing development projects for the agricultural sector in various fields.
