RIYADH – SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Tareq Saleh received Tuesday the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif.

The meeting discussed local and regional developments in light of current changes and the ongoing threats posed by Iranian activities and their destabilizing tools to security and stability in Yemen and the region.

Tareq Saleh emphasized the importance of supporting the government and state institutions to extend their authority over all entry points of the country, as well as strengthening the Coast Guard in combating smuggling, and enhancing training and capacity building.

For her part, the British ambassador expressed her country’s full support for the Presidential Leadership Council, affirming the UK government’s commitment to exerting the necessary international pressure to ensure maritime security and stability in the region and international navigation.
