His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Thursday, at al-Ma'shiq Palace in the interim capital Aden, the crediting documents of Mr. Evgeny Kudrov as Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Yemen.
Following the ceremonies, President al-Ali welcomed the Russian Ambassador, wishing him all the best in his diplomatic mission, promising every necessary facilitation he may need to do his job, further promote bilateral relation and cooperation between the two countries to serve the mutual interests.
The President highly praised the Russian steadfast support for the Yemeni people and its internationally recognized leadership at different international stages.
The conversations covered topical issues relating to the Yemeni-Russian bilateral cooperation and the promising chances to further broaden joint cooperation in different fields in light of the constructive outcomes of President al-Alimi's visit to Moscow last May.
The Chairman of the PLC updated the Russian Ambassador on the developments in the Yemeni national arena and the government's ongoing reforms aimed to mitigate the devastating consequences of the war triggered by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias and their perilous attacks on the maritime shipping lanes and commercial ships.
President al-Alimi restated the commitment of the PLC and the government to achieve the comprehensive and sustainable peace that is based on the references agreed on nationally, regionally and internationally.
