The Chargé d' affaires of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Yemen, Shao Zheng, confirmed his country's continued steadfast support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government in doing their jobs.
He also restated Beijing's support for Yemen's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity.

In a press release learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Yemen-China relations, the Chinese diplomat highlighted the depth of diplomatic relations between the two countries over seventy years, noting that Chinese-Yemeni relations have gone through different stages while maintaining a deep and strong friendship.

"The interactions and communication between the Chinese and Yemeni peoples go back thousands of years", Zheng remarked.

He added: "The basis of relations between countries lies in the closeness between their peoples, and the deep friendship between the two peoples is the source of strength that pushes the relations between the two countries forward".

The Acting Chinese Ambassador stated that over seventy years, the two countries have stood firmly by each other on issues related to the core interests and major concerns of each, and Yemen has consistently adhered to the 'One China principle' while China has continuously supported Yemen's unity, sovereignty and independence.
