Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasim Buhaybeh, met with the Regional Director of the International Association for the Care of Victims of War and Disasters, Dr. Mohammed Darba', to discuss areas of cooperation to enhance quality healthcare interventions in Yemen.
The meeting focused on coordination mechanisms between the Ministry and the association to ensure program sustainability, build local capacity in rare specialties, and unify efforts to cover areas in greatest need.
The Minister praised the association's efforts, highlighting their direct impact on citizens' lives and contribution to alleviating patient suffering.
Dr. Buhaybeh called for expanding activities to include new governorates with limited medical services, emphasizing the importance of progressing with plans to establish two centers for hearing and speech and training medical staff to operate them according to international standards.
Dr. Darba' presented an overview of the association's interventions, including a prosthetics program that has restored hope to many injured individuals and free medical campaigns for cancer patients and pediatric and urology surgeries.
