Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi today met the Ambassador of the French Republic, Catherine Corm-Kammoun, who delivered an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to attend the third United Nations Ocean Conference, which will be hosted by the city of Nice, France, in the middle of this year.

The conference will be attended by several heads of state, the UN Secretary-General, international organizations, and civil society activists in environmental and economic affairs.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, as well as the latest developments in the local situation, including the ongoing repercussions of the Houthi terror attacks on oil facilities and maritime shipping vessels, and the opportunities for establishing peace and stability in Yemen.

They also conducted a thorough review of the economic and financial reforms supported by brotherly and friendly countries, French backing, and the international support requisite to enhance these reforms and mitigate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reiterated his appreciation for the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and France's stance in comprehending and addressing the Yemeni issue, looking forward to a more efficacious European role and a strategic partnership at all levels.

The French Ambassador proffered the President French development interventions in the temporary capital, Aden, and a number of provinces, particularly in the realms of culture and human heritage preservation.
