President al-Alimi convenes meeting of government, local authorities

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held today, Tuesday, a small government meeting included the governors of the government-held governorates, the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani and the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Ahmed Ghaleb.

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) strongly emphasized the importance of joint Yemeni-Somali collaboration in different field, mainly about fighting the terrorism and organized crimes.

"It is vitally important for Yemen and Somalia to establish robust collaboration about fighting terrorism and cross-borders organized crimes", he said.

He made his comment during his meeting today, Monday, with the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hamza Idi Barre, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly.

Yemeni-Somali bilateral relations and cooperation was key focus of the conversations.
