Member of PLC Mujalli discusses with US Ambassador cooperation for realizing peace
[12/08/2024 06:08]

JEDDAH - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Sheikh Osman Mujalli, met with the US Ambassador to Yeme, Steven Fagen on Monday to discuss the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the joint cooperation to restore peace.

The member of the Presidential Leadership Council condemned the brutal crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation against the defenseless Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the siege on the innocent, the targeting and demolition of homes, leaving behind horrific humanitarian disasters.

Mujalli also affirmed the position of the Leadership Council, the government and the Yemeni people in their adherence to supporting the Palestinian people and their just issue until the establishment of the fully sovereign Palestinian state in accordance with the relevant international legitimate resolutions.

He appreciated the joint efforts of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States of America to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and resume negotiations to end the humanitarian suffering suffered by the resisting Palestinian people.

Mujalli pointed out to the daily suffering of citizens in the governorates under the control of the terrorist Houthi militias, and their savage attacks directed by Iran against our people in all regions, including the recent unjust military campaign on the people of Sarar region in the Wadi Rabi'e district of Al-Bayda governorate, terrorizing the innocent civilians of elders, women and children, and bombing citizens' homes over the past five days, preventing them from practicing their normal life and activities in agriculture, shopping and treatment, despite the handover of the individuals who confronted the Houthis and defeated their terrorist militias.

Mujalli affirmed that the Houthi agenda can only be defeated by the Yemenis who are threatened in their lives and who know the militia's true capabilities, considering the targeting of pomegranate farmers in Sa'ada governorate and the attempt to impose tariffs on them and force the sale of agricultural products at low prices through Houthi supervisors made the farmers revolt against it in the public markets, while others preferred not to harvest the fruits and leave them to die in the farms.

"The Houthi militia poses a serious threat to Yemen, the region, and the interests of the international community through the terrorist acts they commit in the Red Sea," said Mujalli.

He pointed out to the militia's continued digging of trenches in the mountains and stockpiling of weapons.

"These preparations are not for peace, while our partners are seeking peace, and we in the legitimate government support and bless their efforts."
We are pleased that the international community is now convinced that everything the Houthis do is extortion, and that the Houthi and Iranian ambitions have been exposed after the American strikes that killed five elements of the militias who were being trained by the Iranians and carrying out military tasks there.

The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Othman Mujalli referred to the difficult humanitarian conditions and the massive human and material losses that have afflicted the population in Taiz, Hodeidah, and Hajjah, and yesterday in Marib Governorate as a result of the climatic change and the heavy rains and floods that have hit large parts of the country.

He called for the need for effective interventions by international organizations and friendly countries to address the urgent needs and assist the affected families who have lost their homes, farms, and the basic necessities of life they had previously enjoyed.

Mujalli also appreciated the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the speed of response and humanitarian interventions by sending aid through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to cover the urgent food and housing needs of those affected by the recent floods and rains in Taiz, Hodeidah, Hajjah, and Marib.

For his part, US Ambassador Steven Fagen affirmed his country's keenness to support Yemen and stand with the Yemeni people, and expressed his country's readiness for urgent intervention in this regard, according to the assessments of international organizations and humanitarian partners in Yemen.
He stressed the importance of supporting the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Yemeni people to overcome the successive crises in the country.
