Marib Dep. Governor, UNHCR discuss humanitarian interventions in the governorate

Deputy Governor of Marib governorate Dr. Abd-Rubbo Meftah discussed today, Tuesday, with the Director of the Office of the UNHCR in Marib Ma'mon Abu Arqob joint cooperation and coordination between the local authority and the UNHCR about the humanitarian interventions of the UNHCR in the governorate.

The conversations touched upon the humanitarian situation and the challenges facing the local authority as it is struggling to meet the increasingly growing needs of the IDPs in the governorate which hosts more than 62% of the whole IDPs in the country.

Abu Arqob explained that UNHCR signed funding contracts for Marib governorate with partners to implement three projects during the remaining months of this year.

The projects include providing 1,500 temporary housing of prefabricated houses (caravans) according to a design approved by the shelter committee, providing assistance for the rehabilitation of 100 houses in Harib District damaged by the war and 50 others in al-Wadi District affected by climate changes as well as providing assistance for the maintenance of 800 other houses.
