A source in the port told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the wooden ship was about to sail to the Socotra Archipelago, but it caught fire while carrying three cars and other materials.

The source said the problem was dealt with and the vessel was towed to the dock behind the port control to avoid the spread of the fire to ships and boats anchored in the port, pointing out that the explosions that occurred on the ship were due to the presence of gas and oxygen cylinders, and it is expected that the losses will be large, estimated at tens of millions of riyals.
