Today the non-resident Ambassador of Yemen to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Muhammad Taha Mustafa, discussed, via video communication with the Director-General of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairsthe latest developments in Yemen.

Mustafa touched on the concessions made by the government in order to bring peace, the continued intransigence of the Houthi coup militia and its failure to respond to all initiatives during the past period, and the continued imposition of suffering on Yemenis through making up fuel crisis and selling oil products in the black market, despite the fact that fuel shipments have been allowed to enter Houthi-controlled seaports sine before the truce agreement on April 2.

He pointed to the Houthi militia's refusal to open roads, the continuation to besiege Taiz city, and even the aggression against the besieged city's residents, and continued attacks on Taiz, Marib and Hodeidah cities. He called on Luxembourg and the European Union to pressure Iran, the main supporter of these militias, to respond to the initiatives of the UN envoy.

In turn, the Luxembourg official affirmed her country's position and the European Union's position in support of Yemen and their welcome to the government's initiative to facilitate the entry of fuel ships and stressed the importance of the Houthis' commitment to the truce, its terms and mechanisms, as well as their support for the mission of the UN envoy to bring peace and end the suffering of Yemenis.
