Speaker of Parliament Sultan al-Barakani blamed Iranian regime's expansion policy for the ongoing devastating war in Yemen and unbearable suffering the Yemeni people have been struggling with.

" I have to speak out openly that my heart is bitterly bleeding that my country like some other nations in the west and central Asia has been subjected to grave damage caused by regional and international powers which are desperately seeking to achieve their own interests at the expense of other nations", he said; adding " I have no reservation to point fingers at Iranian regime, not Iranian people".

His statement came as he was speaking on Saturday at the 12th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly which kicked-off its session today, Saturday, in Anatolia city, Turkey.

Al-Barakani went on saying" The Iranian regimes' illusions have created a horrific hell in Yemen like in other countries in the neighborhood".

The Speaker of Parliament called on the Asian Parliamentary Assembly to react responsibly to the Yemeni people's ordeal. He said" I'm calling on you and your people to act sensibly, pay attention to the Yemeni peoples' suffering and humanitarian catastrophes due to ongoing war, we need you to press for implementing the International Security Council's resolutions, namely 2216".
