The Council of Ministers devoted its session today, Monday, presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, in the temporary capital Aden, to address the economic hardships and explore measures to maintain the national currency exchanges.

The Cabinet emphasized the importance of joint action and integrated efforts of the entire state's institutions to handle the economic challenges.

To help, in this, it directed establishing well coordination between financial and monetary policy, exerting utmost efforts to improve revenues, rationalize expending and controlling deficit of the state's general budget.

The Cabinet stated that it is looking forward to receive more support from Yemen's partners, first and foremost, from the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to sustain the government's ongoing efforts to maintain the economic stability and the national currency exchange rates, which have been seriously delinked due to the continuation of the cessation of oil exports and the rise of the marine shipping prices.

The Council of Ministers has approved a draft bill to amend article 4o of the Republic decree about the Law no 32 of 2006 of the Republic decree about the Law no 12 of1994 about the crimes and penalties relating to the blood money.

The Cabinet has ratified the Arab Protocol about banning human trafficking, especially women and children, which is the complementary supplement of the Arab Agreement for fighting cross-borders organized crime.

The Minister of Local Administration provided the Cabinet with a report about the level of collecting the financial revenues of the local authority for the first half of 2024 fiscal year at the level of the government-held governorates.

The report stated that the total amount of the collected resources reached 20 billion, 11 million and 327 thousand Yemeni Rial (YR),
