The Cabinet held Wednesday its regular meeting presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awadh bin Mubarak The meeting addressed several issues related to the service, economic, and living conditions of citizens, as well as updates on political military, and security situations, along with agenda items, and necessary decisions were made.

The Cabinet approved the results of the ministerial committee formed by the Council, chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade, to address economic, financial, and monetary conditions, and referred its findings and recommendations to the relevant authorities.

The Council also agreed to establish and manage Ambikha Bay area in Mukalla district of Hadhramaut as a natural reserve.
The Ministers of Legal Affairs and Water and Environment were tasked with completing the necessary legal procedures and submitting them to the Prime Minister for signature.

This decision aims to protect biodiversity in Ambikha area, ensure the sustainable management of natural resources, safeguard threatened and rare species, and fulfill commitments under the international wetland treaty. The site contains numerous plant and bird species, offering significant potential for environmental and educational tourism, and serves as a living museum for ecosystems, particularly wetland ecosystems.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister raised several observations regarding the performance of certain ministries and government entities in addressing the current exceptional challenges across various aspects.

He emphasized the need to achieve breakthroughs in tackling accumulated problems and restoring confidence in state institutions. He highlighted the achievements made in implementing the financial and administrative reform program and the government’s strategic plans and priorities, aiming to restore the state’s stature and authority, respect for its institutions, and recognition of efficiency, performance, achievement, and merit.

He stressed the importance of continuing to enhance transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption efforts as a main focus for the current phase. He affirmed that corruption in peace is a crime, a drain, and a source of pain, while in war, it is considered a grave betrayal.

Combating corruption is a national and moral responsibility that requires cooperation and coordination with all oversight institutions to establish accountability systems and fight corruption based on transparent and objective principles, without selectivity, he said.

The Prime Minister addressed the updates on the political situation and peace efforts, as well as the continued obstruction by the Houthi terrorist militia of all initiatives led by our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the regional and international community.

He highlighted their escalating terrorist attacks against maritime shipping vessels and international navigation routes, as well as their attempts to target the Safer oil facility.

He affirmed that the complete restoration of the state and the ending of the Houthi coup is an irreversible goal unless the Houthi militia and their supporters in Tehran agree to a political solution.
