Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik received today, Saturday, Ambassador of the UK to the Republic of Yemen Abdah Sharif.
They conferred over Yemeni-British bilateral relations, latest developments in the Yemeni national scene, regional and international arenas of common interest.
The talks also covered topics relating to the British role in sustaining the Yemeni government's efforts to improve the Yemeni economy, keep on reforms and alleviate the humanitarian suffering created by the terrorist Houthi militias.
The repercussions of the Houthi militias maritime piracy actions in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden were also discussed.
Dr. Ma'een restated that securing the international trade and shipping lanes can only be realized by restoring the Yemeni state's institutions as it is the key guarantor to maintain the sovereignty of Yemen and its stability.
He reiterated Yemen's steady support for the Palestinian cause and People, strongly denouncing the grave crimes and atrocities of the Zionist occupation troops.
The Prime Minister touched upon the challenges the Yemeni government has been facing in the economic, financial and services fields, citing the government's efforts to manage the economic hardships and do the needed reforms.
The British Ambassador reiterated her country's support for the Yemeni government and its efforts to maintain the economic stability and pursue the necessary reforms.
