MoU to construct 60MW- power station in Shabwa signed

Minister of Oil and Minerals Saeed al-Shammasi and Minister of Electricity and Energy Mane'a bin Yameen and Governor of Shabwah Awadh bin Al-Wazeer signed Monday the Memo of Understanding to construct and operate 60- MW power station generated by gas in Shabwah.
According to the memo, the plant will be constructed at al-Uqlan area, Shabwah with power transport lines from the generating plant to distribution networks financed by the state from the portion of crude oil revenue produced in Shabwah.
Minister al-Shammasi confirmed that the ministry will work on providing needed quantities from natural gas produced in Shabwah to supply the plant with daily gas fuel.
