His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

Governor Shamsan inspects maintenance works in Taiz museums

Governor of Taiz Nabeel Shamsan inspected Tuesday the construction and maintenance works for the museums of Taiz City within the second phase of doing maintenance work to damages resulted from Houthi militia's systematic attacks against museums and historical sites in Taiz.

Governor Shamsan listened to an explanation from Director of the General Authority for Monuments Mahboob al-Garadi on the nature of doing maintenance work and material used in this work to regain the beautiful shape of the museums and the continuous measures in coordination with UNESCO and the International Fund for Monuments to continue the process of maintenance work to the damaged sites.

The damaged sites to witness maintenance work include the Old City and al-Muthaffar Mosque and making lists of the lost local and foreign antiquities, which are 45 thousand antique.
Governor Shamsan praised efforts exerted for protecting the antique sites in the city, emphasizing making a list of the looted antiquities and coordination with the ministry of culture and international organizations to search for them and regain them and referring the looters to justice.
