Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik chaired a joint meeting of the Ministry of Transport, the Coast Guard and the General Authority for Maritime Affairs in the interim capital Aden today to discuss the progress of work in seaports, the challenges they face and plans to overcome them.
The meeting approved a number of decisions to ensure raising the performance level of seaports, to be implemented with the participation of ministries and relevant authorities, and to submit periodic reports to the Prime Minister on the level of implementation.
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Transport to follow up on the implementation of plans to raise the readiness of seaports, stressing the strengthening of the role of the Coast Guard to carry out its responsibilities in combating smuggling across the coastal strip.
