Marib displaced people's unit renews humanitarian call for helping DP

The Executive Unit of Managing Displaced People Camps in Marib has renewed humanitarian call for helping inflicted people in displaced people's camps over heavy rains and storms hit the province during July and August.

The unit reported that more than 18 thousand families in 197 camps and locations for displaced people across Marib Province have been inflicted by heavy rains and storms and that 5974 family have been fully inflicted and 11 people were killed, nine of them by floods and two by thunder lightening.

" We confirm that the humanitarian situation of displaced people is very bad and current interventions of humanitarian work partners are not enough and do not cover half of the needs and have not helped in managing damages (over heavy rains,)" said the executive unit in a report to Saba on Sunday.

The unit called upon all humanitarian work partners for quick response to alleviate suffering of the inflicted families long time after the disaster and are waiting for a helping hand, in addition to mobilizing resources for providing suitable environment to displaced people.
