Prime Minister Shaya Zindani chaired a joint meeting on Tuesday with the Ministers of Industry and Trade and Finance, along with senior officials from both ministries, to strengthen institutional coordination, streamline commercial procedures, and improve the business and investment climate.

The meeting reviewed coordination on a number of priority issues, with particular focus on customs procedures to ensure the smooth movement of goods, eliminate overlapping administrative measures, and strike a balance between effective regulatory oversight and facilitating trade.

The Prime Minister said the current phase requires a more integrated approach to government work built on continuous coordination, information sharing, and clearly defined institutional roles to improve public sector performance, uphold the authority of the state, and serve the interests of citizens and the private sector.

He stressed that laws and regulations governing economic activity must be enforced through close coordination among the relevant government institutions to strengthen institutional discipline while removing unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles that impede trade and investment.

Zindani directed the two ministries to establish a permanent institutional coordination mechanism to address shared issues without delay, unify the implementation and interpretation of relevant legislation and regulations, accelerate decision-making, strengthen business confidence, and improve the quality and efficiency of services provided to investors and traders.
