The Government of Yemen has expressed its deep concern and regret regarding the recent decision made by the U.S. Administration to restrict the entry of citizens of the Republic of Yemen to the United States, as part of a group of countries included in this decision.

Saudi mine action project clears 2183 Houthi mines in one week in Yemen

RIYADH - SABA
The Saudi mine action project of MASAM removed 2183 Houthi-laid landmines in different parts of Yemen during the 4th week of May 2021.

In a statement, MASAM said the cleared landmines included “16 anti-personnel landmines, 927 anti-tank mines, and 1230 UXOs.”

“With this, the total number of landmines removed since the beginning of [MASAM] project has reached 251,549,” said MASAM in a statement.

MASAM began its demining work in Yemen on 25 June 2018​. 

Despite its work and that of other mine action programs. Thousands of Yemenis have been killed or injured due to Houthi landmines since the beginning of the Yemeni war in March 2015.
