Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani met on Thursday with the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, on the sidelines of the 47th meeting of the World Tourism Organization Committee for the Middle East, held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Al-Eryani informed the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization about the tourism situation in Yemen and the devastation and terrible collapse it has suffered since the Houthi militia’s coup in September 2014. He said the Houthi war has affected this vital sector in a very large way.
He said that the Houthi militia used tourist facilities for militia purposes, and destroyed tourist sites, expelled technical and administrative employees in the sector and plundered their rights.
