Minister of Telecommunications Najib Al-Awj has emphasized the need to neutralize the telecommunications sector in Yemen from the ongoing conflict.
In a meeting with two members of the Political Affairs section at the office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Al-Awj emphasized the need to set aside the telecommunications network from the conflict.
The Houthi militants control the country’s telecommunications network in Sana’a and weaponize it as part of their war.
Al-Awj affirmed the government’s readiness to facilitate the difficulties for the team of the UNSE’s office as they carry out their mission in Yemen.
