Marib Dam's canals to be rehabilitated

Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah discussed Monday with Director of Water and Sanitation Project at the International Organization for Migration and Sanitation Officer at the organization office in Marib rehabilitating Marib Dam's canals and control and safety system of the dam.

Miftah confirmed significance of the project, which targets rehabilitating control and safety systems of the dam after the floods it witnessed during the past months over heavy rains, in addition to rehabilitating the prime canals with the length of 50 KM and branch canals with length of 87 KM.

He confirmed that the project will help boosting agricultural production and best use of the dam's water in addition to providing many work opportunities to locals and displaced people.

He pointed out to significance of transferring from humanitarian interventions into developmental projects by international organizations for boosting public services, livelihoods of people and economic sector.
