CAIRO-SABA
The Arab League has strongly condemned Houthi militia attacks targeting King Fahd International Airport and the Shaybah oil field in Saudi Arabia, which resulted in casualties, injuries and material damage to the targeted facilities.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Arab League categorically rejected the continued Houthi attacks on Saudi territory, describing them as a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a direct threat to its security, stability and the safety of citizens and residents.
The League stressed that repeated attacks on airports, oil facilities and civilian infrastructure constitute a serious escalation that threatens civil aviation safety and energy security and undermines regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and reach a political settlement to the crisis in Yemen.
It reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for the measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, affirming that the Kingdom’s security is an integral part of Arab national security.
The Arab League called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in stopping these attacks and preventing their recurrence. It also extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
