Yemen and US Agency for International Development (USAID) held Wednesday a meeting for revising the agency's projects and programs in Yemen.
The projects package allocated to Yemen have reached USD 267 million this year distributed on sectors of health, education, governance, economic and stable growth, and water and sanitation while the humanitarian aid to Yemen reached USD 746 million.
The meeting, which was presided over by Minister of Planning and International CooperationNajeeb al-Awj, the Head of USAID in Yemen Mary Devitt and directors of health, economic, water and sanitation and education sectors in the agency, discussed economic recovery, reconstruction and technical assistances of priority to sectors of services, the Central Bank of Yemen and the public finance.
Regional program's projects of the agency were also discussed.
Minister of Planning confirmed significance of the meeting for activating the national institutions for implementing the agency's projects and joint efforts for alleviating suffering of Yemeni people through transferring into development work and creating work opportunities.
For her part, Devitt pointed to the agency's resumption of its development programs for helping Yemen's recovery and ending foreign needs.
Sub-meetings between technicians from the two parties were held after the meeting for discussing technical domains.
